Description

High Cliff State Park is situated on limestone cliffs, sacred to Native Americans, that overlook the largest inland lake in Wisconsin. History and geology buffs will enjoy the park`s effigy mounds, lime kiln and quarry.

Alerts and Important Information

Access the park from the north using Pigeon Road off State Highway 114. Access from the south using High Cliff Road is closed to through traffic.


Due to a Triathlon on Saturday, June 19, 2010 the road will be closed from 7a.m. to noon and campers will be unable to leave the park until after noon.

Water available in the campground late April or early May and then turned off about mid October. Weather/staffing dictates opening and closing of buildings.

Firewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park or Forest properties from out of state or from more than fifty miles away from the property you are going to. Reservations accepted 04/01 to 10/31 each year.

  • Sites 001 - 052: reservations 05/01 - 10/31
  • Group Sites: reservations 04/01 - 11/15
  • Sites 053 - 112: reservations 04/01 - 10/31
  • Site 058 is the Host site and not available for reservations.
  • 1st come / 1st served 11/01 to 03/31 each year as snow allows; sites are NOT plowed. 1st come / 1served sites with electric are available 11/1 to 11/30. From 12/01 through 03/31 only primitive* winter camping is available. * Sites are non-electric and only pit toilets are available. Call park for more details at (920) 989-1106.

  • All vehicles and wheeled units must be parked on the driveway. Tents set-up on gravel pad.
  • There are no overnight camping facilities for campers with horses.
  • No water hook-up sites in the park.
  • A trailer dumping station is available.

    High Cliff State Park is located 9 miles east of Appleton on Hwy 114. Drive south on Pigeon Road, and turn left on State Park Road and follow to the park entrance.
