Description

Perrot State Park's 1,243 acres are nestled among 500-foot bluffs where the Trempealeau and Mississippi Rivers meet. Enjoy Brady's Bluff Natural Area and breathtaking river views in this park known for its natural, archaeological, and historical resources. Hike the 13 miles of trails that offer a variety of experiences and levels of difficulty. There is direct access for bicyclists from the campground to the 24-mile Great River State Trail as well as excellent road biking in the area. There is a marked canoe trail in Trempealeau Bay and canoes can be rented at the park. Plan to visit the adjacent Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge.

Alerts and Important Information

All campground flush toilet and shower buildings are open from April 15 to October 15 each year. Before Memorial Day weekend and after Labor Day weekend, the upper loop shower building is only open Friday through Sunday. From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, the upper loop shower building is open every day. The bay loop shower building and lower loop flush toilet building are open every day from April 15 to October 15.     These are our reservation seasons. The rest of the time is a walk-in season.

    We no longer offer winter camping, however, if you would like to hike into the campground we will allow it during our winter seasons:

    October 15, 2009 to December 31, 2009

    September 8, 2010 to December 31, 2010

    All sites are reservable. One wheeled camper and a maximum of two vehicles are allowed per site. Camper and vehicles are restricted to the graveled spur. Tents must be kept inside the mowed or signed site limits. Extra vehicle parking is available at the entrance to the campground. All campers must arrive and be set up by 11pm. No overnight boat mooring.

    Pets must be leashed (under 8') and attended at all times.

    Vehicle admission stickers are required.Click here for cost of the sticker.

    The new visitor center is located on the east end of the park, so it is recommended that park visitors enter the park using the east entrance through the Village of Trempealeau.

    Reservations cannot be cancelled online.

    From the South on I-90: take Exit 4 and turn north on Hwy. 53. Travel about 8 miles to the Hwy. 35 Trempealeau Exit (watch for the Perrot State Park exit sign). Travel west on Hwy. 35 for 8 miles to the stop sign in Trempealeau. Turn left and travel two blocks through downtown to the river. Turn right when you reach the river's edge and follow for 1.8 miles to the park headquarters.

    From the North on Hwy. 93: at the Centerville stop sign drive straight onto Hwy. 35 South and travel 4 miles to Trempealeau. At the Post Office continue straight ahead onto Main Street for two blocks to the river. Turn right when you reach the river's edge and follow for 1.8 miles to the park headquarters.

    From the North on Hwy 35: drive to Centerville. At the stop sign turn right and follow Why 35 South. At the Post Office continue straight ahead onto Main Street for two blocks to the river. Turn right when you reach the river's edge and follow for 1.8 miles to the park headquarters.
