SANDHILL STATION CAMPGROUND, WI

Status: Open year round.

Description

There are 15 walk-in, tent-only campsites and one group walk-in, tent-only campsite at the campground. They are nestled in a secluded oak savanna one mile south of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on Mud Lake Road. Well water and pit toilets are available in the campground and showers at the Sandhill Station Campground in Lake Mills.


Sites that are not reserved are available on a first-come, first-served basis all year. There is a self-registration station near the entrance by the parking lot. After finding an unoccupied site, you must fill out a self-registration envelope in the self-registration station, put the camping fee in the envelope, remove the top copies, and place the envelope in the steel box at the registration station. Fasten the second copy at the campsite post.

Sandhill Station Campground is part of Glacial Drumlin State Trail.

No one may start setting up or taking down a camping unit between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Radios, noise-producing devices and loud voices are prohibited between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The campground is open all year and does not require a vehicle admission sticker.

Reservations cannot be cancelled online.

Take Interstate 94 to the Lake Mills exit. Go south on Highway 89 through Lake Mills to County Highway A. Where County A bears right, continue south (straight ahead) on Mud Lake Road. Travel one mile to the campground entrance.
