Firewood Notice: Firewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park, Trail or Forest properties from more than 10 miles away from the destination campground, unless it is certified by WI DATCP. The certified wood has been processed to kill harmful pests and diseases they may have hidden inside.
In addition, firewood that has been in a Wisconsin EAB quarantined area is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood nearby or at the property you are going to. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline 1-877-303-WOOD (9663) for information before packing for a trip.

Alerts and Important Information
Nelson Dewey is closed December 1 through March 31st.

For 2015

  • Reservations from 5/1/15 through Columbus Day Weekend.
  • Campsites available on a 1st come/1st served basis October 13th, 2015 through 1st snowfall.
  • October 13th - Nelson Dewey State Park - Showers, flush toilets, dump station, all water faucets closed except the winterized faucet.
  • If a hard frost is predicted, water throughout the park is shut down immediately.
